Not bad, less then 2 hours to put this together
If I knew how straightforward this was I would have built one years ago
All PT wood, carraige bolts hold the legs to benches & the table
It would have been less time, but my wood bits suck
The carriage bolts are 3" long & the nuts are counter sunk on the inside of the table. Nothing to catch your leg on
Design plans had (5) 2x6 as the top, I went with (6) 2x6 instead
I'm actually not putting the (2) 2x6's on as the seats
Instead (1) 2x10 will be the seat on each side
Oh, and build this where you want it
This puppy is not moving off the deck without at least 2 people
HEAVY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HD had shoddy reg wood 6' tables for $98
Not PT, not put together too well, No carriage bolts, junk
So my PT wood was $92, bolts $8, That's for an 8' table
And I picked up a new set of wood bits for the next project

Very nice- I know what you mean about the weight of these things!
Where did you find the plans for it? I was looking into making one myself.

Nice looking table.
There are some people who don't think it is a good idea to use PT for a picnic table. AT least not for the eating surface. Possible food contamination etc.

You would think that putting a coat of finish such as paint or wood sealer would keep that to a minimum. Maybe not.

I just did a search & found this site
Then I looked thru the different plans

I used this set of plans:

Actually since they have changed the composition of the PT wood I don't have a problem with it

The table was the easy part
Harder was building a 12'x12' deck out back to put it on
Then adding about 500 sq ft of patio block to tie it in
Then building a planter & seating area
Then digging & burying 3 ponds
Then moving the pool fence to include the new area
Still some odds & ends to finish up next spring

Ok, so why didnt you brag about this before. that is an incredible amount of work you have accomplished. that addition is the size of some entire homes! :congrats: I know what those additions cost. are you involved with the mafia? Just kidding. nice work indeed.
Cant wait to see the finished project. certainly puts my recent little closet project to shame LOL

I think I posted some pics on here before
I'll post more once I get the roof on
Dig & pour foundation, back filling, 3/4" rock was about $6k
Windows, doors & skylights might be another $6k so far (need 3 more)
I've been buying deals off craigslist & stores for 3 years
Lumber might be another $10k
Still need garage doors (I have 1 temp door for the winter) $4-6k
Floor & new driveway may be another $10k
Then of course insulation, sheetrock & odds & ends
And the whole house needs to be resided after this is built
The great room will be empty/unfinished for the next 2 years
The rest of the house will be finished 1st (new kitchen)
We wanted the garage space & attic storage, and to have the house resided

It will be well worth the wait. I had a buddy who put on a 2 story addition for around $50,000. If i stay where i am, i will put one on my current home and I figured arount 28,000. good ol equity loans eh?
looking forward to the pics

Actually we have the $$ set aside from each selling a property before we married/moved in together. Instead of buying a huge house we decided on a smaller house, smaller mortgage. And I would build what we wanted
