Oil Preasure Chime

1993 Lincoln Continental.

The dash oil preasure chime (bell) sounds off and on when driving. There is nothing wrong with the oil preasure. Only the chime sounds and the light (oil can) flashes. Hitting the dash restores proper operation.

Is there a quick fix?

I read this slightly old post, and couldn't resist bait of the "...is there a quick fix" question. My somewhat warped sense of humor causes me to reply that the quick fix would be to install something that repeatedly hits the dash while the engine is running.
