Gutters on detached garages

Is it normal to put gutters on a detached garage? I'm redoing the roof and there is no gutters on the garage now, but I wasn't sure if it needed them or not. The house is about 14 feet from the garage and I don't want to cause any drainage issues around the house.

Gutters as far as I know aren't required any where by code
If the roof slopes towards the house it may be a good idea to put gutters up & direct water away from the house

Without gutters water will cascade off the roof in a downpour & usually leave a "line" along the ground
This usually ends up being pebbles/rocks as soil is washed away

Gutters also prevent dirt from splashing onto the siding
But I have this happen on the gable side of my house
I also use gutters to direct water to 55g drums for storage to water my garden
