I have some "triple louvered" ones on some parts of my house, they were there when I bought it and seem to work well. But I have since added some other new gutters.

I do not like the plastic or aluminum mesh kind, have tried them, but always still have to remove them to clean, they look bad, blow off, etc.

At least the PVC ones I have seen are $4-$6/ft.

Has anyone tried the foam kind? Quick search is $3 a foot (seems expensive for that kind of material). I have to do SOMETHING this spring for about a 52' run in the front of my house.

TIA for any help...

I just replaced all the gutters on my house to seamless and at the same time I had them install "leafguard" gutter covers. This particular guard is aluminum (gold color) and screws down to the outside top edge of the gutter, it runs back and has a built in drip edge that ensures no water can run back out. The top surface area is flat with a lot of punched out holes,
I live in N.C, so pine trees are a real pain in the butt when it comes to pine needles and gutters add to that heavy downpours of rain. I had them installed on a neighbors addition I completed a year ago and I watched them to see how well it worked over the last 10 months or so, no needles in the gutter and I never saw any water wash off or back up......
"so impressed I used them on my own home" (cliché) I cannot speak for the other styles ( many are called leafguard) but the ones I have I'll keep recommending.

Cost was $4/foot
