Hi all

I am about to lay tile in my remodel. I the old kitchen floor had linoleum over the 30 year old concrete. This was scraped off. some of the adhesive is on real good. I plan on laying tile in these areas. Should I chemically remove the adhesive or just thin set over it?
My concern is the adhesive has a good bond where as the chemical will leave a gooey film.

thanks

As long as the adhesive that is still remaining on the concrete is well attached and not in the way of a laying the tiles nice and level you should be fine. Use a 1/4" notched trowel to spread the thinset.

Make sure you clean the concrete well BEFORE appling the thinset, there are many products available for doing this most available at big box stores or your local tile shop.
