I'm looking to build one for my addition. To buy it would be around $700-1,000
I have the time, 3 windows - 4th will be a louvre vent (back). It will be about 26" square & maybe 48" tall. Built in 3 pieces to make it easier to lug up to the roof & install.
They want $40 to put a "light" in a cupola. Basically just a box with a light socket & some wire attached :stupid:

This will be used to ventilate the attic space, using a powered fan
The roof deck will be ventilated with soffet & ridge vent
I just need to build the frame, the roof
I'd like to put copper on the roof, but open to other suggestions

Maybe this will help.

(has a video of the project at the bottom of the page)

See also, http://www.woodenprojects.com/cupola.html <-- this one is probably more in line with what you are wanting to do

Thanks
I've found a few sites that have different versions
Enough information to get me going
I think the best tip I found was to build it in 3 pieces & assemble on the roof
