I'm remodeling my kitchen and will be putting in a new range hood. After I took the old hood down I found out it did not vent anywhere. This is on an inside wall. What do I need to do to vent above the stove with a new range hood.

What is above the kitchen -- another floor or the attic? You need to either run a 6" pipe up to the roof, or through a joist cavity above the rangehood and out the side of the house. This can be a pain to retrofit depending on your specific circumstances.

Go with a ventless hood if it is too difficult to run a vent. What is the reason you want the fan for -- to rid the kitchen of excess humidity, to rid odors, to get rid of gas combustion gasses, or because everyone else has one?
