half turned on/off light switch

hi ,
just wondred is there any fire hazard for a half turned on/off light switch?
In other words, if you were in a hurry, and left the switch in between on and off.

There could be if the power was still flowing by way of an arc. If the gap was just right it would arc and burn up.
