I am deeply troubled. After almost 15 years of using the same tool pouch, mine is on it’s last leg. It’s been repaired several times, and it’s just about shot. This is so troubling, because you become somewhat attached (literally and figuratively) to your tools. The pouch that I used for so many years is no longer made, so changing to a new model is really going to screw me up for a while. I can reach for anything without looking, and pull it right out.

I’ve looked at the product offerings, and none really suit me. The larger Klein models and one model from Occidental Leather come pretty close, but none is quite "the one". I went to a local Amish shoe and harness maker, and he said that he’d be happy to manufacture whatever I describe to him (he even mentioned that I should supply the tools too, so that he can make the pockets exactly right). The estimated cost was almost $250 bucks! Wow.

I need to know if anyone knows of the hands-down best electricians tool pouch (if there is such a thing). I feel like I’m in mourning. For the record, the pouch tools that I need to accommodate are:

25’ lever lock tape rule
Yellow Ideal T-Stripper
Stanley 99 utility knife
Fluke non-contact voltage probe.
Medium length straight screwdriver, big blade, with attached conduit reamer
Long length straight screwdriver, really big blade
Medium length straight screwdriver, small blade
Medium length #2 phillips screwdriver
Klein 10-in-1 tool
Valco split-blade screwdriver
¼" nutdriver
5/16" nutdriver
Triple tap tool
Klein all steel awl/punch
Lineman’s pliers
Buchannan 4way crimper
Dikes
8" crescent wrench

This list should give the search engines some keywords to latch onto too, but I really am searching for a pouch recommendation. Anyone have any luck with the newer nylon tool pouches?

I prefer this pouch (I hope it's ok to post links):

The same pouch is sold by Home Depot, $5 cheaper.

Mdshunk, I am deeply moved for your loyalty to your tool pouch. I can understand you great loss. Much like losing your lifetime best hunting dog.

I don't know,,,, that $250 may be cheap if that guy can clone your old tool pouch,,,, again !!

Good Luck and happy times ahead.

The electricians around here and the Hvac guys are wearing a lot of the Klein Power Line series cordura pouches. From your list of tools I think you should take a look at these.
Also Boulder pouches are very popular and similar to Klein power line.

I always prefered Klein for leather, wore a 5178 for a few years and really liked it. But didnt wear it everyday just when on electrical jobs.

Hardest thing is finding a pouch that will carry all your favorite tools. A fellow came into the plant wearing a 9 Pocket Klein and a really nice leather tote in hand the other day but thats two tool carriers to keep track of...RL

Ideal is carrying a line called tuff totes like these they are leather and real nice but pricey 100 bucks or so.....the two at the top are totes bottom ones are pouches
