the backdoor to my mom's house has needed replacement for years and years. as a christmas gift, i went to the nearest home depot and got a replacement. i took off the old door, changed the hinges and proceeded to make the change - happy christmas.
on the 27th, we got burglarized. i didn't realize that the door lock was not aligned properly such that a perfect fit would lock the door. as a self-proclaimed handyman, i have got to be better at this. i was thinking of getting my eyes checked and do that lasik thing (http://www.my2020.com), hate wearing glasses, so that i wouldn't be in this predicament. needless to say, i have installed a 2 1/2inch barrel bolts on the inside.
the horror in this story is my great grandma's iron pan was stolen. who would steal such a thing? well, the microwave and my mom's fancy braun espresso maker was stolen too, but she'd give almost all the appliance away just to get that iron pan. i'm such a dolt.
