Ok, the big finish :bath:

Just kidding. We are real close to done, just some trim left for the window, the built in cabinets and the baseboard.

Picture 19. Went with a solid top for the vanity. sort of a marbalized looking frosty white.

Picture 20. Ok, most everything is installed. you can see the switch for the sconce lights behind and above the toilet. that is the dimmer switch. and the paint was picked off of the shower curtain to the right, not a bad match for a standard mix. Again, thanks to those that helped me to understand how to wire this one in. Oh, yeah, i put a fan in also. no picture (you all know what an exhaust fan looks like)

Picture 21. So this is pretty much where we are now. I cut in a hole for the toilet paper roll and installed a chrome one. Oh, and I added an oval mirror between the sconces for a touch of class. no pic of that yet.

So, there you have it. The whole thing took about two weeks. I had to fly out to Cape Cod for a week in-between there, but still about two weeks worth of evenings.

Hope you are not too harsh on me. remember, i am just a joe, tinkering around this old house. Trying to keep the wife happy:vroam:

Jeez, you must have hauled a$$ on that job! It took me close to a month to remodel mine.

It is my opinion that Junkcollector was too easy on a guy we like. Now as a second opinion I am not sure but suspect you did one thing wrong on that job. Problem is I am not sure where. With that thought it only seems logical that you will need to take everything apart and remove everything down to the studs and floor joists, oh yeah ceiling joist opened up too. Once you have taken out all you did and if you find no mistakes were made then you obviously did a good job and can put it all back together again with our blessings. Let us know when you get that done and your next project done so we can give you more good advice on the finished product of your next project. We are always there to HELP a fellow forum member with our expert advice !

Ha Ha

Really looks great. Does that get you enough brownie point with your significant other to spend the summer on the lake fishing ?

Thanks for the positive comment Junkcollector.

As for WG...had my heart pounding there at first thinking i was wrong. Does a man ever get confident in his project completions? I think I am hardest on myself if I make a mistake. Like the advice I have givin to newcomers on this forum time and time again. "don't do anything new without clearing it here first". where else can you get this type of advice. You all helped me with this project almost every step of the way. same with the basement bathroom, family room, bedroom, upstairs kitchen, deck........

Too bad I am so broke now or I would send you a little greenback. :adore:

oh, and yes, already planting the "goin fishing this summer" seed. So i must have earned it. But I still have some cabinet doors to make. I have done everything else, may as well learn cabinetry too.
:smokin:

thanks again for the comments.

Very nice job. looks a lot better than the cover up job someone did on my bathroom floor. They put down laminate floor tiles :-( wish they put down some real tiles:-) Hey you don't happen to live in New York and do Roofs, do you??? :embarassed:

Great job!:top:

The sconces look real classy.

Just me, but I would have went with shower doors 'cause that would be what my Mrs. wanted :secruity:

Anyway, the more projects ya do the more confidence ya gain and by the looks of your bathroom, I'd say you have nothing to worry about with regards to future endeavours.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. Makes me wanna do another. currently no big projects lined up. thinking about buying a fireplace insert and building my own frame for it. will probably put marble face or tile face and an oak topper. we shall see.

personnaly, aside from the added elbow room I gain from the bow out shower curtain, I like the shower doors better. But, that is opposite from what MY Mrs wanted. Funny huh?

Thanks again:tee:

Alright. After one entire year of remodeling the bathroom we have completed the cabinet doors. I was just going to go cheap, but i have a buddy who likes to tinker around with a router and between the two of us we created these.

The first picture is of the kitchen built in that i had to make smaller to accomodate for the larger sink in the bathroom behind it. that left me with a built in with no cover (well, we draped a burgandy sheeting over it).

The bathroom is the second pic where i took the existing birch cabinet facing off and then added a second built in beside it.

I am into these two sets about $300 in oak and hardware. took 3 months to complete, but i like the way they turned out. many little pieces, lots of sanding and precise cuts. and yes...i messed up a couple of times so i ended up spending a little more on wood LOL.

look at the pics within the remodel threads to see what they looked like before. ...still have to get a 6 panel solid oak door for that bathroom, but at $120 each, they have to wait.
