You know, this forum could really use another moderator to move/remove spam, etc.:idea2:

MD hasn't been here for many months!:alberteinstein:

How do we appoint one?
(maybe it's a stupid idea...)

What do you guys think?:pepsi:

I nominate junk!

Ive said for quite a while that I'd be willing to jump in on that responsibility. I do alot of computer work in the evenings and usually have this site open. It only takes a few seconds to move a post out.

These spammers are rally getting annoying. Can someone be granted the power to terminate misbehaving user accounts? I'd rather keep removing an account than have to mark all their posts as spam every day.

Don...If you're too busy, I'm sure you can get a volunteer. I'll do it, Mr T, Junk, someone!

I nominate Mr T!:tee: But seriously, I think any of us could do it. I visit here a few times a day. I would be more than happy to do it too.

I agree! :congrats:

And if you cant delete the account for some reason, at least disable their posting or unmoderated posting privies...

In fact.. I looked in the top secret spam room.. out on page 8. The first spammer to be moved there (officemaxng) still has an active account. Luckily with just 1 post.

We are not being hit by a spam bot.. it's most likely a human putting the spams up. (otherwise we'd get one in every single room several times a day every day). If they have to go through the trouble of creating a new account every few days, they may just move on to the next board that doesnt care if they spam there. Spammers never log in to check mail, PM's or for replies to their posts. THey have no clue that they get deleted.. but if they can log in to post again, they assume nobody is doing anything.. We need to delete or restrict their account.. If they recreate it.. create a dummy account as a spaceholder so they cant at least use that name.. It may be just enough of a headache to make them move on.

Since I posted the above message, 4 spam posts have been put up. 3 more were put up earlier today. Something needs done, before this costs us members!

I move for Mr T and Junk to be the two additional moderators in charge of crushing spam.

We shall call them SPAMERATORS!!!

:pcguru:

:adore:I will remain on the SpamerHators list since I can't guarantee that I will visit everyday. Out of state a lot.

I guess the spamemrs never take a christmas break do they.

ok Mr T you could be in line for a promotion, not sure about getting you any extra metals to display though. Give this until just after the new year, have been very busy on other things & projects, and will not always be near a computer over christmas.

But I'll put you on my list and will be checking it twice, have to check with santa claus to make be sure which list you are on - the naughty or nice list.

Just to give you a idea on one of the projects I beginning to work on.....

www.travelwithadisability.com

and

www.travelwithadisability.com/dkerr

Which contains details of a 6 country world tour/vacation I am taking next year. Still got a lot of work to do on the sites, haven't gone near the search engines with it yet, but will as I get more of it done, I intend to upload info /pictures etc., to the site and the forums I have insatlled on that site as the trip is in progress, most places have internet access that I will be in including the cruise ship, I will be bringing a small laptop with me. As the sites are developed / completed and expanded I am hoping it will become quite popular.

The only places with limited access will be Jamaica as I will be staying with peple that we know that don't have a computer, and my wife's home province in the Philipinnes but will update those areas on the site as soon as I am in a place with access.

You will see all the tours now that are booked in Hawaii/cruise / Australia / New Zealand and Hong Kong

To me it does not matter who or how many moderators are on these forums as long as they keep the spammers out. I hate spammers. They waste my time clogging up my email (except my super secret account). Do whatever it takes to keep them off the site.

I could also partake in extricating the incorrigibles, but only on an irregular basis. I live in one state and my wife lives in another, and so I'm often in flux.
