I am building a garage (30' x 26'). Spread footing = 8"T x 24"W with 16" stem wall constructed of two courses of 8"cmu with brick veneer face. Second course of block will be 8x8x16 hollow header so poured garage floor will tie into stem wall. Seismic Design Category is B so I do not have to reinforce stem wall but I will put two pieces of steel in the footing. This is my first major construction project so thought I would seek some advice. Does my plan sound about right? Any recommendations. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. Did not see the post. The size garage you stated requires the footers to be frost protected. you did not mention how deep in teh soil from finished grade. It depends on your location as to how deep frost line is. The width depending on the soil type is probably not required to be more than 12" wide. All else you speak of seems fine.
