Planet Christmas, lights shows from a few thousand to a million lights
Mega trees, mini trees, leaping arches, 400a service dedicated JUST to Christmas lights
I have 22,000+ LEDs, 1/2 mile of rope light, over 80,000 lights all together
I only have 6,000 up so far

I also ordered a "small order" of blow molds - plastic lawn ornaments
The cement foundation you see in the foreground is 24' x 36' long
I had a full trailer truck - 53' long

:smile2: Sometimes you don't even need to have pranksters! I guarantee that most of my Christmas lights will not work when I pull them out this year:laugh:
It's sooo much fun figuring out what bulb is bad:puke:

One reason I always like c-7's & C-9's - easier to replace bulbs
But over 3,000w for my Christmas tree design was too much
I do a Halloween display, so I don't start until after Halloween is down & packed away

Do the "bulbs" even come out of the LED units? Arent there parallel wired light strings now where it doesnt matter if any bulbs are removed. I bet it makes a nice flash when you put in a normal bulb that is expecting a 1 or 2 volt bulb.....

Some of the LED bulbs are replaceable, a lot aren't
LED Christmas lighst are still undergoing learning & development problems
You wouldn't know it from the price!!
I ordered in bulk from an importer, who thru a web-site had orders for over 2 million strings of lights
Some replacable sockets rust out fairly quickly
Some corrode & become unuseable
So far going into my 3rd year my strings are doing OK
But this will be the 1st year of a large quantity - last year was less then 1,000 LED lights

Mine won't be spinning as fast this year as last year
I was let go from my job 3 weeks ago, so I may only be setting up the LEDS
Pics from last year & years prior are on my web-site under "Photos" Menu

ScubaDave,
I will be in Boston on the 2nd of December but only for the night. I will be on the cape for a course the rest of the week (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt course)
How far do you think you will be by then? Where is your home in proximity to Logan Airport? If not far, could we drive by? That might score me some points with my travel companions.
At any rate, i am looking forward to your display on the forum! and on your site.
Sorry to hear about your forced vacation.

That would be hilarious!!:D What sucks is that many utilities nowadays are changing their meters to digital ones without the circular rotor that spins. Mine got switched three weeks ago.:y:

Yeah, they switched my meter to digital maybe 2 years ago
I never recd any notice they were going to do this
I have a SW fish tank that requires constant circulation or the fish die
I guess it wasn't off that long, plus I have back up devices to keep it going
I am about 20 miles South of Boston, 30-45 minutes depending upon the day & traffic. I'm actually about 15 minutes off of Rte 3 - which many people use to drive to the Cape
I light up on Dec 1st, just testing until then
There is a house outside Boston that blows mine away
~500,000 lights (he throws them away each year), the guy erected a 650 lb "Crown" on top of the house for Christmas - without a building permit
Last year

2007 - (house cost about 1.6m) - they want him to take the Crown down, he has refused. And has refused to get a building permit
