I would use a neoprene no-hub fitting, which is very commonly used to connect various kinds of drain and sewer pipe.

Good luck.

Interesting!

I guess I should say, "versatile"!

The no hub fitting that you're looking for will come in several configurations. The hub is about 6" long and has 2 to 4 stainless pipe clamps. It's important to get the right fitting for your pipe. The fittings are different for 4" clay, 4" cement, 4" black or cast, and 4" PVC and Abs. Make sure you ask for the right one, or it won't seal correctly.

Fernco is one of the trade names for the fittings. You will only be able to use these on a hubless pipe. If you're going into a pipe with a hub, check with the Plumbing house on recommendations for the hub that you're going into.

P. S. Sometimes the big box stores will carry the Fernco fittings that are prevelant in your area. It's a hit and miss there.
