Could you tell me if there is post on this web site that pertains to swimming pool maintenance, like converting pool over to a salt water system. I did this 2 years ago and it was the best thing in the 26 years we have had the pool. I am very in to this and would like to share information with others. This a very interesting web site and I appreciate all the help that you have given MAX...

Pool topics pop up in various section, with electrical existing home being the most common area. The chlorine generator from salt is electrical...
I am curious if your salt system is in an outside pool and how well it keeps up with chlorine demand (I thought they were rather slow). Do you use any cyanuric acid as a stabilizer? How do you shock?

Mark___The chlorine generator for my pool runs about 8 hours a day (24hr) my pool is 13,000 gal. It does a great job. If I have the solar blanket on for more than 1 day I turn it back to 4hr's a day. I paid $125 for it new, it is a INTEX generator. The salt I buy is Motrin purex salt, $7.50/ 50lb bag at feed store. I use a regular chlorine stabilizer which is cyanuric acid (I think) and basically everything else you use for a regular pool . The only difference is that once you get total alkanty and stabilizer just right like you would on a regular pool, it will take of its self. I have shocked my pool 2 times this year with reg. pool shock. I have spent $ 18.50 on the pool since I opened it May 25th . I have had my pool for 26 years, so this is like a dream come true, not to mention all the benefits that go with it, soft skin & hair no more dry skin. MY water has looked like drinking since the day I opened it. 2nd year with salt and haven’t bought chlorine, and that’s a big savings…..I could be gone for 2 or 3 weeks and pool would be fine.
