I recently moved to a new home with an existing alarm system. As the system was locked and could not be reset, I replaced the electronic board in the security box. I was able to set it up so that everything seems to work properly.

The problem that I'm having is that, when I open any door except the door to the garage, the light for the zone of that door does not light up. I could arm the system with open doors!

If I arm the system and open a door (except the garage door), the red light for the zone does not turn on yet the alarm will sound however.

Could someone please suggest on what I should change? If you need to know a particular setting on my system, please let me know and I will look up. Thanks.

When you replace the circuit board you are replacing the "brains" to the system also. The system needs to be reprogrammed so it knows what is where and how to react.

The programming can be somewhat challenging. You must know the make and model number of the system, what is on each zone and how they are set to operate, any wireless keypads or zones, is the board connected to a telephone and monitored by a monitoring company, what sounding devices do you have, what keypads and how many do you have, what zones are for fire????

These questions MUST be answered before any programming can start. After you get these questions all answered.........go to www.homesecuritystore.com and click on "security forums". Go to the DSC area and many people can assist you with programming help and manuals.

Good luck
