I was given an Ademco Vista-10SE panel w/ a 6128 keypad. I have a fairly
extensive back ground in commercial alarms (primarily Radionics) systems.
Anyway, I have all zones terminated w/ 1k EOL res.. I have reprogrammed the installer code (had the current programming profile document in the panel). I have the Programming Manual, the Installation Guide, and the Users Guide. I have loaded the factory defaults, and then reprogrammed the required fields.
Problem... I still have "d l, not ready" on the display. I have come to the conclusion that this panel may have been disabled by the last monitoring service provider. I could care less about monitoring, I want to use this panel in stand alone mode. My question is does anyone know how to "re-enable" this panel? I thought loading the factory defaults would take care of the problem. I've queried different forum(s) and no one seems to know. No one can seem to tell me if I need Compass or V-Link alarm downloading software to do this. I've contacted Ademco (now Honeywell) technical support and they were effectively useless. This seems like a simple obstacle. There has to be a way to blow out the data in the EEPROM. I used to do it in the Radionics panels by removing the E2Prom (it was socketed) and pushing it into a piece of aluminum foil shorting all the legs. Tried it on this panel w/o desoldering the E2Prom. That is my next step. Also if anyone has Compass or V-Link and could e/m w/ it if you think that would fix my prob. that'd be greatly appreciated. I made a direct connect cable and was able to atleast get some jibberish on my old legacy compaq laptop w/ 2400 modem. I suspect their using proprietary characterset or terminal emulation.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have an immediate need for this unit, other wise I'm relegated to 2 zone Moose pad :-(
Tks
