washer distance from source

Is there any regulation on how long the water and drain hoses can be for our clothes washer? I'd like to put the washer on the other side of the dryer to make loading and unloading easier (no reversable door).

Currently if you are looking at the washer and dryer it goes (from right to left) water source & drain pipe then maybe 2 feet over, washer and right next to it, dryer. I figure a 8-10 foot hose would get the washer on the other side of the dryer. Can I do that?

Check your manufacturer's installation instructions for that certain washer. 10' probably is too long per installation instructions. Those instructions will tell you your answer for that certain washer.
