my great honda lawn mower worked weakly on its 1st outing his year for about 5 mins then stopped. Ive changed the fuel for new, changed the spark plug. Nothing happens when turned over. If i put easy start (ether) into the air intake the engine will run for a moment so I assume i have compression and sparks. Blade still rotates when turned over. I then took the carb apart, looked very clean, took the main jet out and cleaned it and float chamber.
Still nothing at all when turned over (unless ether is sprayed), the spark plug appears to be wetted by fuel.

Any ideas? I'm stumped..where to go next. If it ran at all that would give me a few clues.

The engine is an GCV135

This engine has a internal timing belt that may be worn and stretched and possibly jumped a tooth on the cog belt

sorry I am so late posting, With ether, only proves you have spark, it does not mean you have compression, ether is such a voitile fuel that unit will start
with low compression, do a compression test before going any further.
