Hi, I am novice at this so any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. The shower in my basement leaks to the adjacent rooms most of the time. I removed the tiles around the basement's bathroom floor and saw approx. 1/4" gaps all around between the wall and the shower floor. These gaps are about 2 1/2" deep, measuring from the floor to the bottom concrete floor. These gaps were 'patched' with mortar and I noticed cracks. I think this is the cause of water leakage to the next room. Can you give me some suggestions on what to do next? What can I use to fill the gaps with and re-tile the floor. I took several pictures so you can see. Thanks for all your help.

Ideally you need a (watertight) one piece shower stall pan which slopes so the water flows towards the drain. After purchasing and installing this or making it out of concrete poured in place you can glue tiles to it to match the shower stall decor. A poured concrete pan would probably have a lip at least an inch thick and two inches high all around the perimeter. When you are done there must not be anywhere that water collects.
Simply tiling down to floor level will require constant maintenance making sure any cracks are promptly sealed.
