View Full Version : Garage security/keyfob opener control

We have a HAI Omnipro II system and have been considering adding keyfob arming/disarming. Mostly, we want to tie the alarm system/garage door openers, so closing the garage door with the fob arms the garage area, and opening with the fob disarms and triggers the opener. I know this is pretty common and recommended by some security professionals.

I understand programming the system well, but I am not sure exactly how the process works out when arming the system. Normally the system won't allow you to start arming while a zone is not secure. (Which the raised garage door wouldn't be when the remote was pressed). I can work around this by setting up auto-bypass, but then if the side door was left open, the system would arm with the side entrance disabled. How do installers usually handle this process?

Thanks
