Well started the snowblower for the first time this winter and in the midst of doing neighbours driveway its basically stops working.

2 things happened at almost at the same time, shear bolt on the auger went and i also lost drive capability.

Its a sears craftsman 9hp with 29" inch width. Purchased in 2003 or so. It has 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. I replaced the auger shear pin and that now works. I am getting rotation on the main auger.

The snowblower does not want to engage in forward or reverse. The handle control and wire appear ok. Is there another "pin inside the main housing. I do not have the manual for it >

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!

Could be a broken belt on the drive. Snowblowers usually have two belts. One drive auger. The other drives the wheels.

Check out www.sears.com under "Parts". Not only will they sell you parts but a lot of times they have the manuals so you can see how it works and what parts are required.
