When ever I use the hot water in our utility tub (2 handle faucet) it shuts down to almost a trickle. I have to open it more in order to have enough water. I have replaced the valve washers twice with not luck. After using the water and shut it off, it feels normal in the closing. Any thoughts. Thanks

Have you closed the angle stop below the sink and removed the hose going into the faucet, then turned on the angle stop to see if is slows down without the faucet? I'd give that a try just to verify it's the faucet.

Disconnect from the shut-off valve below the tub? I haven't tried that, but I will. Thanks.

Is there a spray hose connected to the faucet like in a kitchen sink?

(copied from other forums)

If you turn on the faucet unusually high at first, does it slow down to the flow you want suddenly or gradually?

I am told that neoprene washers are not suited for hot water faucets because they expand as hotter water arrives and this forces you to keep adjusting the water.

There may be other materials that are similarly not suitable, I don't know which.

A foreign object such as a small pebble might be floating around somewhere in the hot water channel either before or after the valve. How to get it out I don't have any suggestions.
