Spam in private messages

A user by the name of kaneweber has send literally hundred's of private messages to our users, usually 1 per user, but there is hundreds in the system, not certain if anyone got more than one from this person, the message starts with a 'happy new year' and the link in the signature goes to some religious site, this user has no threads or posts in the system, therfore his / her only purpose is to spam our users.

I have deleted the user, but the procedure has failed to remove the hundreds of spam private messages in the system, I am looking for a modification to purge all private messages from this user.

The private messaging system for the 'REGISTERED USER' Group has been for now SHUT OFF, we are continueing getting mass spam emails being sent to our membership, and I suspect it could be the same person who may have re-re-registered under a new name.

As soon as I can get the time to deal with this and create a promotional type system to qualify to do private messaging I will switch it back on, but it will have some qualification to be able to use it.

Some people have nothing better to do than to cause headaches for others.

Moderators / admins still have private messaging but the bulk of the membership under 'registered users' will not. I will be wiping the private message portion of the database before setting it up again under new criteria.
