I have a 10-year old faucet at my kitchen sink that we still like. The problem is that I need to replace a part in it. There are no identifying marks that I can find on the faucet to tell me who made it or what model it is so I have no way to know which part will fit. Can a plumbing supply house identify the correct part if I take the old part to them or is there another way to identify the manufacturer? This faucet is original to the house and the contractor did not leave any paperwork for it. Thanks for the help.

I would take the whole thing, or a picture of the completed faucet. They may be able to identify the brand just by looking at the whole unit. Some parts you can also tell just by looking, but it would be better to give them the whole picture.
