I have by bathroom torn apart. It had a 4-piece shower wall and basin set installed. I'd like to put in a 1-piece shower stall, but the bathroom door is only about 28" wide. The smallest shower unti I can find is 32" wide.

I don't think I'm gonna like the answer I get here, but how in the world do I get a one-piece shower stall into my bathroom? Give it to me straight.....

Thanks,

Rob

1 piece showers are designed for new construction where they can be dropped into the area during framing.

You'd be better off going with a split unit again. What was your problem with a split unit previously?

It had a leak in it and it was a bit old. Plus I broke two of the panels removing them to inspect the wood in the walls. I'm skeptical of these because of the leaks. I tried to recaulk the one we had, but as soon as it got wet, the bead failed again. Are these units dependable?

Take a look at one in a store. you set it in caulk. the lower unit has a lip that goes up behind the upper unit.. for water to get past it, it will need to be under some pressure, and have a break in the caulk...

Install it right and it shouldnt be a problem.

I went to the Home Depot today. The selection seemed sort of limited, along with the assistance. What I found in the building supply section was some FRP Plastic Wall Panel. Do you have any quams about using this in a shower setting? It seems like it would be able to perform the same function as the muti piece set at a lower cost? Do you have any suggestions for a money saving alternative?

Thanks agaian!
