The Fill cycle from my dish washer can be heard in the upstairs shower! Any suggestion on quieting down noise that travels along a water supply line?

Sorry, this is a forum subject designed for people to provide tricks of the trade. You are asking a question seeking help. Please repost your question on the forum subject EXISTING PLUMBING further down the forum index page.

I will then repost the answer there so others can see and learn.

The answer to your question is that washer has a quick action electronic valve. The IRCode requires that you install an antisurge device on each valve cold and hot to prevent the banging you are hearing. Install antisurge devices on the washer hot and cold valves, and it should solve your problem.

Hope to see you on the existing plumbing forum subject reposting your question there so I can reply then delete these posted subjects posted on the wrong forum subject. Most would not find it here and many will have the same question you had.

Good Luck

we have very noisey water pipes and it seems to be getting worse. It seem to have started when we replaced the tank mechanism in our toilet. You can feel the vibrations on the bathroom floor. The vibrations occur when we run the water or flush the toilet most of the time. What can we do to correct this?

Does the pipe make noise with any faucet in the house or maybe just one? If it is just one faucet you probably have a worn washer and it is not seating properly and it causes whistling or vibrations. If it is with any faucet then go with the suggestions made.
