Hi this is my first post, I am buying a water jet for my company and I find myself needing a water softner. I have no idea what to look for, as far as size or anything like that. I have found one on ebay that came out of a Hospital in Georgia. It is a Burner water softner By Culligan. Year 1994, Model # C1350-8. It say to be in working condition, and has had a new valve installed. Again I have no Idea what to look for or if it is a good Idea to buy a used unit like this. I would appreciate any insight any one could give me on the subject. If you would like to take a look at the unit the ebay item Number is as follows # 200046987028
Thanks

I guess there are some important parameters you need to determine first. What are the minimum and maximum requirements of your water jet as to:
-volume requirements
-flow requirements
-water quality
-operational time requirements (how long will the jet run for at a time)
-etc..
From there you can then determine what kind of water softener you need. Will the softener be supplying the water jet directly or supply a holding tank that the jet uses? and other such questions.
Many, many questions need to be answered before any suggestions can be made as to type or whether the one on eBay will meet your needs.

I don't know fer sure what a water jet is but I can tell you that buying a used softener without knowing what size (capacity and servce flow rating) you need is a very bad idea; especially for commercial/industrial (READ BIG BUCKS) equipment and loss of quality and production. You are going to cut metal/things with high pressure water right?
Plus the fact that Brunner is in essence out of business.
Here is a link to sizing information that applies to all softeners; residential and commercial/industrial, the principal is the same. The first step is a water analysis.
