I want to put in a celing in my pole building but I am not sure if the trusses will be able to support any kind of ceiling (Drywall or Metal) or would I have to add supports or something. Here is the building specs and truss specs. I do not know how much info you need.

Building: 30Wx42Lx14H Wood Frame & Metal Roof and Sides

Trusses: Standard Web Design 30' Trusses w/1' over hang. 4ft oc spacing

Loading (psf): Spacing: 4-0-0
TCLL 40.3 Plates Increase 1.15
TCDL 7.0 Lumber Increse 1.15
BCLL 0.0 Rep Stress Incr NO
BCDL 1.0 Code IRC2003/TPI2002

Lumber Bracing
TC:2x6 SYP 2400F 2.0E TC:2-0-0 oc purlins (2-2-14 max)
BC:2x4 DFSYP 2400F 2.0E (Switched from sheeted: Spacing 2-0-0)
W:2x4 SPF Stud *Excep* BC:Rigid ceiling directly applied or 8-6-8 oc bracing
4-10 2x4 SPF No.2, Joints: 1 Brace at Jt(s): 4
4-8 4x4 SPF No.

I hope this all the info you need yo help. I am not an engineer so I do not understand all the junk they post on the truss paper.

Thanks

The 4' span between trusses cause some problem. If you install a tin ceiling you should be able to span the 4' with tin and still be able to install insulation on the tin but not with any storage in the attic.

If you plan to install 7/16" plywood you should be fine same as above.

If you plan to install drywall you will need to install ceiling jiosts 16" on center hanging from joist hangers from the bottom cord of your truss.

Check with you truss manufacturer for their specs for a ceiling to be safe.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info. The builder that put up the building said I could.put in a ceiling (this was when we were getting all the pricing for it), but I always like to make sure. I nerver asked about storage with the builder so I am not shocked that I can not add storage.

Thanks for the help.
