sealing concrete around inground pool

Has anyone used a sealer on the concrete around the pool area if so what type did you use?

I used deck paint, does that count? I think it was Remuc brand and the jury is still out on its performance. It has flaked off in a few areas, but that was over concrete patch I didn't let cure long enough. The rest of the deck still looks good after one year. What is your goal with the sealer?
