I have a (about 3-4 year old) HM100 10hp Tecumseh on a power washer. It always seam hard to start. I just got motivated to try to figure out and or fix it. I just made things worse I guess. Before it was just hard to start, but a little starting fluid would always do the trick. One good pull and off she went. Then restarting her when she was warn usally was not a problem. Let her get cold again and back to square one. So I though I had a gummed up carb. I decided to pull it off take it apart and clean it up with some carb cleaner. This is the first one I ever have done so there is no telling if I put it back together right. When I took it off, I had to take the governer linkage off as well. This might be were my new problem lies. No after getting it all back together, I still have to use starting fluid to get her going but now I have to take manual control of the linkage because it will no slow idle and the govener does not seam to let her run WOT. So now there are two problems. I read some thing here about setting the governer linkage and will give that a try (is it the same for a HM100?) Thoughts / suggestions besides taking it to a real mechanic :bawling: I really would like to fix this myself just out of pride.
Thanks!

I have one on a coleman generator. I have to squirt gas in the carb to start. Once it starts its fine, and I can restart the same day. I'm thinking it may need a priming bulb.
