hi, wondered if you had a good resource for info on a simple and cheap gray water system. from my detached garage, the washer has always just drained out of about 15' of pvc and onto the ground. i'd like to make use of it somehow with minimal digging.

thanks!

When dealing gray water most often a feeder drain is taken to a location where landscaping is desired close to the source of the gray water. Then a D box is installed and depending on amount of gray water being discharged a minor finger system is created using crushed rock or stone just like a mini finger system for a septic. However the mini finger system with 12" x 12" square stone or rock drainage box with the drain pipe in the lower part of that 12" x 12" box of stone about 2" above the bottom of that box of stone. Then a cheese filter clothe is installed on top of the stone box. Design this mini finger system to stay within a box or circle where you will plant flowers where plenty of sunshine hits the area. Principle is the 12" x 12" stone box increases the capacity many fold more than just laying pipe in dirt. A pipe is about 4" round yet the stone bed is 12" square creating much more perk of the water out of the underground piping. Then plant flowers to your desire above but remember to plant flowers that suck up plenty of water in their growth. Works great.

Hope this helps
