Hello.

I have a safewatch plus rf security system. Through ADT.. Which i have canceled the monitoring portion of the system. I just use the harware like i did before. But adt don't monitor it. Cuase i don't have an account anymore. Been that way for a number of years. It has been working great..

But recently i canceled my home phone. Don't need to pay it. We never used my home phone being we have cell phones.

Now my trouble light comes one and gives an error voice stating trouble when i activate my alarm. Not a big deal. I have a manual but it does not tell my how fix it to ignore the phone line. Plus i have a sensor i would like to take off the system. One of the two motion sensors got busted with a peice of 2x4 in the garage. And i have to bybass that sensor everytime i set the alarm. To many buttons to push to set. Command 3 + "my code" + bypass 03. etc.. Just want to hit command 3 to set it. Plus don't want to hear the lady state. Trouble error 915 . Or somthing like that. Cause of the dead phone line.

My two questions.
How can i disable the what ever is giving me the phone line error. And how can i take off the sensor that i don't need anymore. Can i obtain a a programming manual for download?

Thanks
Dan

The programming/setup manual for my system was in the Main alarm box. Have you checked there?

Some company's lock out theyre panels, they are very strict about giving a customer theyre installer codes. You may need to call them. On most systems you will have to go into installer programming to disable the communicator or,erase the dialer# in a particular programming field.

Obtaining a manual is usually easy but, ADT renames mainstream panels for selling purposes. Your safewatch panel could be a DSC or ADEMCO system in disguise. This is obviously important when trying to obtain a manual. Most manuals can be obtained online.

I wrote down the warning this morning when i set it. So i can post it.
It stated. "phone failure trouble memory"

Is the model of the unit on the back? I can just rip it off the wall to get the info? To start looking for a programming manual? If i can't find anything i might just call them. But I suspect they won't be much help cause i am not a paying customer anymore. And have not been for years.
Thanks for the replies

Reveiwing your first post it looks like you might have an ITI product.
Is there a main alarm panel or is there just a big keypad? Are all your sensors wireless? could be a commander 3000 or something but, your definately going to need an installers code. I'll check back tommorrow.

It is a big alarm panel. Lights down the left hand side and the big siren attached on the right hand side.

Sorry for the delay. I have been under the weather and on the couch. All the sensors are wireless. Door open/motion sensors.

I can pull it off the wall and look at the back. See what infor is on the back of it. Maybe snap a picture of it.

Definately sounds like an ITI product. Isnt she annoying? You need get the
installer to come by and disable the tel line monitoring feature in your system
and reset the installer code back to default (4321)for future use. otherwise they can hold your system hostage if you were to hire the services of another company.

I found a manual online.

Called iticommand2000.pdf nothing to do with installing but the owners manual.

I looks like this one. I can e-mail you the manual if you want.

Have not had a chance to call adt yet.. I am sure they will give me a hard time.
