Well Water filter systems?

About two years ago we had this local water company come out and test and give use a report on out water. They came back and said it was going to take about 3,000 bucks to correct our well water issues plus a building to store all the holding tanks.

My question is:
Is there a web page that talks/shows the holding takes he talked about? He said we need two 100 gallon.

He also said our water has a lot of "Brine" I think thats it.

Then after the holding tanks we need fiters for the sulfur smell and they need to be replaced every 6 month at a cost of 100 bucks?

This hole system seemed very costly. Just does not seem correct to me, what do you guys think?

We have a drilled well about 200 feet down.

I suspect you were hit with a high dollar salesman selling products. There is another post on this subject. Go back to where you posted this subject and read what was said there to confirm more depth in you quest of knowledge.

In short go to your nearest Sears store and ask for a test kit. Take a sample of your water in that test kit back to sears and have them provide you with a report on your water. Then they will tell you the type water softner you will need and IF any other filtration device is needed. Most times the sofner will be owned by you for about 300 bucks and you buy the salt to maintain it. Then if you water is really testing high in say iron or [brine aka lime and sulfer] then you may need a better quality softner and maybe an added filter device. This added filter device you may buy the filters and install them yourself as needed for a minor product fee. REad the other posted quesiton and the replies there. Sears water tests are free and have a good rep in being fair without high dollar high sales pressure. REad and learn you are on the right track and correct in questioning 3 grand for water treatment.
