well like the title says, maybe add a place under telephone wiring or even its own section for broadband issues and/or home networking. im guessing the types of threads it would generate would be those of troubleshooting, wire types for dsl, speeds, connection, modem, , router, pc, parameters... and what they mean, etc. IPTV will soon be available also in many areas which will create a whole new aspect no doubt.

i guess some of this stuff is covered under Computers/Data Wiring too...

just an idea, seems like the market is growing exponentially almost, and this would be a likely place to solve most issues. thanks.

You could also make it networking and home automation.. Those 2 things seem to be blending together.

indeed. i attended a symposium a few months back touting the use of a blackberry-like device to tell how much milk and how many eggs were in a fridge at a house, lowering the house temp5 degrees, and turning on the outside lights.... amazing. on another note, we have about 2-300 folks in my county now that are 'beta testers' for the new dsl lines......get this: 24 Mb throughput to residential!.... fiber to the curb can go up to 80Mb. it just blows my mind how fast its being deployed, and how quickly the network is developing. blah, that sounds like a commercial, but just lends credibility to the existing and future need of such a section.

device to tell how much milk and how many eggs were in a fridge at a house, lowering the house temp5 degrees, and turning on the outside lights.... It's called a wife. But if this device is more reliable (failure rate of less then 98%) then I'll take 2!

I think that adding a subsection is unwarranted... the phone section gets nary a post a month, so why carve it up any more? Perhaps retitling the phone section would be the better approach.
