retailer vs home remodeler

I need some opinions on some kitchen work I am going to have done. We are going to have a new Corian countertop installed in the next few weeks but am confused about something. I visited a kitchen and bathroom store in town- Floor to Ceiling. A place where you can see displays and samples of carpets, countertops, cabinets, etc. What would be the difference if I go through them or call any home remodeler from the yellow pages? I figured I would get quotes from both but was not sure who I should be getting to do the work.

Your retailer will sell you the materials, your remodeler will sell and install them.

If your retailer installs, they often sub it out to a contractor to install...possibly the same one you talked to from the yellow pages.

Prices may or may not be comparable. Your remodeler may be able to get stuff that you cant get as a consumer.
